  • 1 package Success Basmati Rice
  • 2 tubes refrigerated crescent roll dough preferably the non-perforated kind
  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 1 cup shredded red cabbage
  • 1 15oz can mixed vegetables drained
  • 2 teaspoons garlic powder
  • Salt/pepper to taste
  • 1 egg for egg wash

  1. Pre-heat oven to 350 degrees F. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper and set aside.
  2. Cook one package of Success Basmati Rice per the package instructions and set aside.
  3. Add beef to a medium pan and cook for about 5-6 minutes, on med-high heat, or until the beef is cooked through. Drain any excess oil and return the pan to heat. Add in the cabbage and mixed vegetables. Stir and cook for about 5 minutes. Add in the rice and season with garlic powder, and salt/pepper to taste. Remove the mixture from heat and allow it to cool slightly.
  4. Roll crescent dough to about ⅛ inch. Cut out approximately 9 circles that are about 4-5 inches in diameter. Place 2-3 tablespoons of the filling in the center of each round. Fold the circle over the filling to make a half circle. Using the back side of a fork, press around the edges to seal the pie.
  5. Transfer the pies to the prepared baking sheet. Make an egg wash by whisking together 1 egg and 1 tablespoon of water, and brush the pies with the egg wash.
  6. Bake for about 20-25 minutes until they are a beautiful golden brown. Remove from oven and serve warm. Enjoy!
