Did you know that March is National Frozen Foods Month?! Frozen foods are my go-to for those quick and easy meals, especially when I’m short on time! Whenever I go to Sprouts Farmers Market, I always make sure that I stock up on plenty of frozen fruits and veggies.
I love shopping at Sprouts because they always have new and unique items to meet a variety of dietary preferences. On my latest Sprouts run, I picked up a few new items, which included a pack of Sprouts Sliced Frozen Avocados and a pack of Sprouts Whole Antioxidant Blend. I was so excited to try my new products, so I decided to make this tasty Antioxidant Berry Avocado Smoothie!
This Antioxidant Berry Avocado Smoothie is loaded with fruits and veggies. It’s packed with antioxidants thanks to the Sprouts Whole Antioxidant Blend, and it provides a good dose of healthy fats and fiber from the avocado and ground flaxseeds.
TIPS FOR MAKING THE PERFECT SMOOTHIE:
Making a good smoothie is more than just piling ingredients into your blender. The way the ingredients are placed into the blender can impact the final texture and consistency, which is why I recommend dividing the ingredients based on texture as you layer your ingredients into your blender.
Start by placing the heavier, frozen items, such as frozen fruits, nuts, or plain or flavored ice, closest to the blades to ensure proper blending.
Next, add the softer items such as frozen spinach or leafy vegetables, protein powders, and nut butters next. You can also add any seeds and soft, fresh fruits during this step.
Last, pour in your liquid of choice.
*Pro Tip: Because greens can take a little longer to break down, try pre-blending them with a little liquid before adding in the rest of the ingredients.

Antioxidant Berry Avocado Smoothie
- 1 cup Sprouts Sliced Frozen Avocados
- 1 cup Sprouts Whole Antioxidant Blend
- 1 banana
- 1 handful spinach leaves
- 2 tablespoons ground flax seeds
- 1 and ¼ cups unsweetened almond milk
- Optional: fresh berries for garnish
Add all ingredients to blender and blend until smooth and creamy.
You may add additional milk if you would like a thinner texture.
Pour in a glass and top with your favorite toppings, such as fresh berries
