Besides my bedroom nook, the kitchen is my favorite place in the entire house! I love to experiment and create new recipes for my family! As long as I don’t have my two toddler boys tugging at my legs, I could spend hours in the kitchen, putting together different flavor combos and even cleaning up afterwards! 😊
Sounds like a dream, right?! Well, it sorta is lol! I LOVE to cook, but between tending to my busy kids, husband, and dog…I don’t always get the chance to take my precious time and prepare an immaculate feast for dinner! I try to keep my meals at least 30 minutes or less, or in this case 15 minutes or less!
That’s right, y’all! I was able to create a couple of recipes that took 15 minutes or less to prepare! I was completely inspired by my weekly grocery trip to Publix. I have to keep tons of cheese on hand because my kids are obsessed with cheese! Lol! We also enjoy eating frozen waffles as a quick breakfast option, so I made sure that I snagged a couple of boxes of those! We often have waffles for dinner, but this time I wanted to prepare a savory dish instead of covering them with sweet maple syrup. And of course, I wanted it to take 15 minutes or less to prepare! Savory Waffle Turkey BLTs came to mind when I noticed an extra package of turkey bacon in the fridge! This recipe idea was pure genius! These sandwiches were a big hit! The waffles provided such a nice crunch. My kids thought these sandwiches were the neatest thing lol!
Savory Waffle Turkey BLTs
-4 Nature’s Path Organic Gluten Free Waffles, toasted
-4 slices of turkey bacon
-2 tbsp of reduced fat mayonnaise
1) Cook bacon in a medium skillet until done.
2) Spread mayonnaise evenly on each waffle.
3) Stack lettuce, tomatoes, and turkey bacon on waffles to make a sandwich and enjoy!
The next super quick recipe that I prepare almost 2-3 times a week is Spinach Garlic Grilled Cheese Sandwiches. These sandwiches are so tasty that my family forgets they actually contain a serving of veggies! Here’s the recipe!
Spinach Garlic Grilled Cheese Sandwiches
-4 slices of Borden Singles
-4 slices of whole wheat bread
-3/4 cup of baby spinach leaves
-2 tbsp of reduced fat mayonnaise
-1 tsp garlic powder
1) Spray a large skillet with non-stick cooking spray and heat to medium heat. Spread mayonnaise evenly over each slice of bread, sprinkle with garlic powder, and place the slices of bread in the skillet, mayo side down.
2) Add 1 slice of cheese, spinach, and the other slice of cheese to each slice. Top with the remaining slices of bread, mayo side up.
3) Cook on each side for about 2-3 minutes or until lightly browned. Enjoy!
These sandwiches were so good and it tastes like you’re eating a cheesy garlic toast! Yum!! This recipe actually took less than 10 minutes to make! #winning!
