So I am completely in my feelings as I am writing this post! My sweet little Caden has turned 1 y’all!! I mean, how did time fly by so quickly?! I was literally just pregnant a few months or so ago! I still remember it like it was yesterday…the first time I saw his little face and heard his squealy little cry….I know, I know, I’m being super dramatic, right?? Let me gather myself (breathe, Andy..)! Okay, I’m back! Lol!
I know that turning one is a wonderful milestone, but it’s also a reality check for most moms that their sweet little babies are growing up! The great thing about these milestones is that we get to celebrate them with our family and friends! One year birthday parties are a big deal in my opinion! Usually parties that are a big deal, require big money! Well, not for me because I save tons of money by doing all of the decorating, planning, and cooking myself!
My little Caden was feeling under the weather a few days before his party, so we had to cancel it! ☹ Even though we cancelled the party, I still decorated the house and took pics to show you guys some of my projects!
As I mentioned before, the centerpieces set the tone for any party, so I like to start with that! For these centerpieces, I used empty Gerber Graduate snack cans as the base. We keep SEVERAL of these cans on hand, so I often use them in my craft projects!
I simply spray painted the cans blue and placed a foam block in each one to hold the cutouts. For the cutouts, I printed these images from my computer on white stock paper and to give the centerpieces some extra “flair,” I tied polka dot burlap ribbon around the base and added crinkly brown paper!
For the banners, I cut out triangles from colored stock paper and used craft twine to form the banner. I glued a few cookie cutouts on some of the triangles to tie in the Cookie Monster theme!
I wanted a cute container to hold some of the snacks, so I ordered these royal blue boxes from Amazon and attached the wiggly eyeballs to resemble Cookie Monster!
Here are a few more pics of Caden’s special day! I hope you found some inspiration for you next party!
